Wednesday: Handbag organisation

I may never be able to find a thing in my handbag, as though it is a wormhole to the dimension where all stray lib balms, hair ties and bobby pins reside. This type of organisation in contrast is just a little revealing, it could even be considered a tad showy!

Monday: Lost and Found

I highly recommend you give the Lost and Found indoor vintage a bric-a-brac market a visit, though I do suggest you pack a lunch as you will most likely loose track of time while browsing the collections.

Upon my recent visit I was delighted to see piano ties, gloves for days and many spectacular preloved and well-worn leather goods. Fun for every boy and girl check them out at:

Wednesday: Counterfeit Crochet

Counterfeit crochet meets counterfeit couture; the crafty ladies behind this global movement are taking a D.I.Y approach to Chanel, Gucci, Fendi and even Prada. Though they may create lumpy and modified versions of the latest designer must haves, there is something none the less appealing.

The idea of creating your own “original” bag flirts with the idea of bootlegging or pirating a brands logo. I doubt the trendsetters find this flattering but it just goes to show the lengths people will go to have their logo, even if it means they have to crochet their little hearts out to get it!!
Visit the movement or pick up your patterns at: http://www.counterfeitcrochet.org/

Tuesday: Purse Mail

This is one item I would never consider returning to the sender, though it may not be my name and address I wouldn’t complain if this turned up in amongst my mail.
Patent leather and embossed branding have never looked so good.

Friday: Wheels, baby.

I've got a bike
You can ride it if you like
It's got a basket, a bell that rings
and things to make it look good.
I'd give it to you if I could, but I borrowed it.
You're the kind of girl that fits in with my world.
I'll give you anything, everything,
if you want things.

Thursday: The latest “IT” bag

The Balenciaga classic Neo will no doubt be the latest designer bag to launch a thousand knock offs, as its predecessor “Motorcycle” bag was seen in many variations in many different stores. My bet is the ranges to follow the Neo will not have the finely finished patchwork and the print will be abandoned for a range of “commercial colours”.

Alternatively for the lady aware of the hysteria a so called “It” bag can create will no doubt be sporting the Longchamp “IT Bag” the perfect shopping tote. Unfortunately I’m a sucker for a good gimmick.

Wednesday: Coco Avant Chanel

There's something about a grey, rainy day that begs me to wrap myself in scarf and beret and venture out to see a film. Particularly if that film stars an Audrey (albeit Tatou) playing Chanel. Alas, my beret and I will have to wait until it's released on June 25th... but I believe it will be well worth the wait.

Monday: Queens Birthday Holiday

Any excuse will do for a public holiday as far as I am concerned, so I will happily sleep in and enjoy a day of leisure for the Queen’s Birthday. Though it may actually be on the 21st of April I’m sure we all won’t mind seeing her on a stamp or two for the luxury of a day off.

I suggest using the time off to get yourself some comfort food at café Fraus ( http://www.fraus.com.au/cafe_fraus/ ) where I sighted none other than the fabulous Alannah Hill this morning, looking just as eccentric and coordinated as a vogue editorial.

Friday: Swimming Cities of Serenissima

Swoon is well worthy of his knee-buckling name, for which other installation artist has created rafts that have travelled the Hudson, Mississippi and now the Adriatic Sea?
Yes, rafts..from junk. A travelling art armada.
These sculptured vessels are arriving in Venice in time for the Venice Biennale.
I have found career number #4... stowaway on real life arty pirate raft.

Thursday: A sign of the times.

I hope your all enjoying the sale season but just a word of advice …..

This sales season it’s not only your credit card balance that runs the risk of feeling a little ill over your purchases.

Enjoy your shopping but if some one sneezes high tail it out of there!

Maybe we should all be putting our money in a piggy bank so to speak, excuse the pun I couldn’t help myself.
